We’ve introduced a new feature on Risingshadow book pages! When you view a book, you might see a new section called "People Also Read".

These recommendations are based on shared genres, themes, and what other readers have enjoyed. It’s an easy and elegant way to discover new books similar to the one you’re viewing.

For logged-in users: We’ll only show books you haven’t read yet, so every suggestion is fresh and relevant!
Using a phone? Just swipe through the horizontally scrollable row to explore more great reads.

We’d love to hear what you think. As always, we’re committed to making your reading experience smoother, smarter, and even more enjoyable.

This new feature has improved significantly over the weekend. Now, the recommended books take into account both the target age group of the original book and its release year more precisely. If a user is browsing a newer book, the system will prioritize other relatively recent titles that have also been read by similar readers. On the other hand, if the user is looking at older works, the recommendations won't be limited by publication year, allowing for a much broader and more varied selection of suggested books.

This update also enhances recommendations for individual titles within a book series. Previously, books in the same series often showed nearly identical suggestions, since their genres and themes were very similar. With the addition of the release year as a variable, earlier books in a series may now display very different recommendations compared to the latest installments. This makes discovering new books more diverse and personalized, better supporting each reader’s unique interests.

I made a small improvement for desktop users browsing book lists: you can now scroll horizontally through the book covers using just your mouse wheel, if all the books don’t fit on the screen at once. It works the same way as swiping on a touchscreen.
