Bridling Chaos

An omnibus edition of The Doppelgänger Gambit, Spider Play and Dragon's Teeth.

When detective sergeant Janna Brill's partner emigrated to a colony world, she expected a new partner. But not "Mama" Maxwell, the flamboyant oddball whose disregard of the rulebook has sent him up and down in rank more times than a yo-yo.

A partner like this could ruin her career... or get her killed... as they investigate a trio of baffling cases: an apparent suicide Mama believes is a murder, except the chief suspect has an ironclad alibi; a vantalized hearse and corpse that lead to smuggling and murder aboard a space station; and thefts and murder committed by a gang that penetrates and escapes at will through what should be impregnable security surrounding political fund-raisers.
