The Dead Kingdom
Kerish-lo-Taan, third son of the Emperor of Galkis, has found three of the seven legendary sorcerers he seeks – he needs to obtain from them the keys which will eventually unlock the prison in which the Saviour of Galkis is immured.
His search is fraught with many perils, and he has to persuade each sorcerer to give up the key, for in doing so they become mortal. In this third book of the Seven Citadels quartet, Kerisk and his three companions must cross the hot and desolate Red Waste and not only find the sorcerer Saroc in Tir-Tonar, his citadel full of nightmares, but speak to him burdened by the conditions imposed on them by the sorcerer Sendaaka.
As they journey, the travellers are aware that time is running out. Galkis is finding it harder and harder to defend herself against her many enemies, and the need for the quest to succeed becomes increasingly urgent.
