The Mammoth Book of Vampires
Edited by Stephen Jones. Illustrated by Martin McKenna.
The masters of the macabre bring the dead to life in this gruesome collection of gory stories you can sink your teeth into. A wide and varied collection of the very best vampire fiction, from tales of tempting sirens to contemporary serial killers; from haunting doppelgängers to nefarious historical figures; from Nosferatu to the shady realms of the King of the Undead himself, Dracula! Within these dark and deadly pages you'll discover short novels and stories by Clive Barker, Robert Bloch, Ramsey Campbell, R. Chetwynd-Hayes, Basil Copper, Dennis Etchison, Nancy Holder, Brian Lumley, Peter Tremayne and Howard Waldrop. And you will find short novels such as Hugh B. Cave's Stragella; Manly Wade Wellman's Chastel, which continues the adventures of psychic investigator Judge Keith Hilary Pursuivant; F. Paul Wilson's Midnight Mass; Les Daniel's Yellow Fog, featuring his undead her Don Sebastian of Villanueva, and the first publication ever of Kim Newman's Red Reign, as well as classic vampire fiction by M.R. James, Edgar Allan Poe and the greatest of them all, Bram Stoker. Never collected together before, these stories blend horror and humour, terror and tenderness, into one large volume celebrating the vampire in all its frightening forms.
