In the deep woods of the Pacific Northwest, things aren't quite what they seem... Physician's Assistant Rick Scales has a quiet practice at the end of the road, near the Makah Indian Reservation, in Neah Bay, Washington. But amidst the Douglas fir along Puget Sound, Scales has come across a problem: his patients aren't dying the way they should.
When a local resident is murdered and others vanish, Scales realizes he needs to figure out what is going on before he winds up dead or disappeared himself. With the help of the Makah police chief, Jasmine Hughes, he sets out to unravel the mystery. The pair themselves heading down a dangerous road they never would have imagined in their wildest dreams.

Steve Perry was born in 1947 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana He has lived in California, Washington and Oregon. He is married to the former Dianne Waller, Executive Director of the Columbia River Channel Coalition. Before turning to full-time freelance writing, he held a variety of jobs, including swimming instructor and lifeguard, hotel gift shop and car rental clerk, martial arts instructor, private detective, Licensed Practical Nurse and Certified Physician's Assistant.
