But amidst the Douglas fir along Puget Sound, Scales has come across a problem: his patients aren't dying the way they should. When a local resident is murdered and others vanish, Scales realizes he needs to figure out what is going on before he winds up dead or disappeared himself. With the help of the Makah police chief, Jasmine Hughes, he sets out to unravel the mystery. The pair themselves heading down a dangerous road they never would have imagined in their wildest dreams.
