In late 1990s California, Justin Pope had all the virtues needed for success: ambition, self-confidence, and not a little greed. All he lacked was talent, and that was never a problem - he just stole the compositions of the long-dead near-greats" of music.

Then he acquired a time machine, and the vaults of all the ages were open to him. Already an accomplished thief, Pope thought his future looked good.

He didn't know the machine attracted its own legacy of hate and held the only future for Humanity.
