The General.

The Sky-Captain.

He is torn between two loves, a servant, and his closest friend. But when an attack on Parliament has his mother and the Prime Minister kidnapped, he is thrust back into the ranks of Sky-Fleet.

The world is devoid of literature, culture, and art; replaced by scientific progress, engineering, and industrial ingenuity. The British Empire rules almost the entire world with the only visible threat to British expansionism being Napoleon. The Napoleonic Empire, consisting of France and Spain, is surrounded and on the verge of defeat. However, an industrialized Japan has united Asia and the Orient, forming the Imperial Dominion of the Orient. Invasion is imminent from the Land of the Rising Sun; unbeknownst, to the Empire on which the Sun never sets.
