Den of the Bear

When two inmates vanish overnight from the maximum-security Penitentiary of New Mexico, the entire state goes on high alert. The men have dangerous connections to the Cartel, but also, it seems, to an underworld even more deadly. Sani Yokana, NNPD Chief of Police, follows a disturbing trail of clues that has them on a collision course with Chaco Navajo Reservation. But he doesn't know why.

On the Rez, everything is connected. Black Bear is banished, but the scars he left in his wake won’t heal. To set things right and return what was lost, Owen and Ben must chance a journey along a dangerous road that bridges the land of the living and the dead.
