In New York City where we lay our scene, two rival witch families fight to maintain control of their respective criminal ventures. On one side of the conflict are the Antonova sisters, each one beautiful, cunning, and ruthless, and their mother, the elusive supplier of premium intoxicants known only as Baba Yaga. On the other side, the influential Fedorov brothers serve their father, the crime boss known as Koschei the Deathless, whose community extortion ventures dominate the shadows of magical Manhattan.

After twelve years of tenuous coexistence, a change in one family’s interests causes a rift in the existing stalemate. When bad blood brings both families to the precipice of disaster, fate intervenes with a chance encounter, and in the aftershocks of a resurrected conflict, everyone must choose a side. As each of the siblings struggles to stake their claim, fraying loyalties threaten to rot each side from the inside out.

If, that is, the enmity between empires doesn’t destroy them first.

Olivie Blake

Olivie Blake

Olivie Blake, the author behind The Atlas Six and The Atlas Paradox, has made an undeniable mark on the fantasy and contemporary fiction scenes. With a writing style that weaves intricate plots and philosophical musings into the fabric of fantastical worlds, Blake’s novels resonate deeply with readers who crave both complexity and emotional depth.

Born Alexene Farol Follmuth in the San Francisco Bay Area, Olivie’s creative journey took an unconventional path. Initially pursuing a master’s degree in Urban Planning and dabbling in law, she eventually found her true calling in storytelling. This pivot allowed her to merge her intellectual curiosity with a vivid imagination, resulting in captivating narratives that often explore identity, choice, and the blurred line between magic and reality.

Her breakthrough came with The Atlas Six, the first book in a dark, intellectual fantasy series that explores a secret society of magicians vying for a powerful, ancient mystery. The book quickly gained viral attention, not just for its complex world-building and morally gray characters but also for its presence on social media platforms like TikTok, where it sparked a passionate fanbase. This success led to sequels, including The Atlas Paradox, completing the series and further cementing Blake’s reputation as a voice that challenges the boundaries of the fantasy genre.

Blake's work is marked by her ability to craft multidimensional characters—people who are both flawed and brilliant, making choices that reveal the intricacies of their own desires and moralities. This depth extends beyond fantasy into her young adult romance novels under her real name, Alexene Farol Follmuth, where she explores themes of love, identity, and growth in contemporary settings.

With a growing body of work that includes both novels and collaborations, such as the webtoon Clara and the Devil with illustrator Little Chmura, Blake’s stories are not confined to one genre. She has created a bridge between romance, fantasy, and philosophical musings that invite readers to explore the questions that matter—about the nature of relationships, power, and the self.

Living in Los Angeles with her husband, son, and a rescue pit bull, Olivie Blake continues to write stories that blur the line between the extraordinary and the deeply personal, inviting readers to dive into worlds that challenge, provoke, and inspire.
