The Desert Princess: A Retelling of Aladdin (Return to the Four Kingdoms #3) by Melanie Cellier
Unrated

Cassie knows she was made for more than a life buried away in her uncle's remote forest estate. Eager to meet the great spymaster, Aurora, she jumps at the chance to travel to her distant kingdom. But meeting Aurora isn't enough—Cassie wants to prove her worth. So when she's presented with an opportunity to gather intelligence, she acts.

When her plans go awry, Cassie finds herself living on the streets in a distant city. But despite the failure that brought her there, Cassie can't afford to give up. Kingdom-shaking danger is brewing in these lands, and she may be the only one who can save the Four Kingdoms. Cassie won't let anything stand in her way—not the biting heat of the desert, not the distracting way her heart responds to the mysterious, attractive stranger who insists on staying close, not the layers of secrets hiding beneath the surface of her new home.

In this reimagining of the classic fairy tale, Aladdin, a girl from the streets must navigate treasure caves, palaces, and a magic lamp if she wants to rescue herself and save four kingdoms as well.

If you enjoy clean romance, adventure, and intrigue, then try the books in the Return to the Four Kingdoms series now! These interconnected fairy tale retellings each feature a different heroine who finds herself friendless in a strange land and who must fight to save her new home and win her happily ever after.

Melanie Cellier

Melanie Cellier grew up on a staple diet of books, books and more books. And although she got older, she never stopped loving children’s and young adult novels.
She always wanted to write one herself, but it took three careers and three different continents before she actually managed it.

She now feels incredibly fortunate to spend her time writing from her home in Adelaide, Australia where she keeps an eye out for koalas in her backyard. Her staple diet hasn’t changed much, although she’s added choc mint Rooibos tea and Chicken Crimpies to the list.

She writes young adult fantasy including her Spoken Mage series, and her Four Kingdoms and Beyond the Four Kingdoms series which are made up of linked stand-alone stories that retell classic fairy tales.

Return to the Four Kingdoms

The books of the Return to the Four Kingdom series can be read independently as standalone stories, but are best enjoyed in order.

This is the third series. There are two prequel series, The Four Kingdoms, where it all begins, and Beyond the Four Kingdoms, which features younger characters that are first introduced in The Four Kingdoms. This series, Return to the Four Kingdoms, features characters that were first introduced in Beyond the Four Kingdoms. These series may be read independently of each other, but are best enjoyed in order.
