Bardly Whitsend's first place victory at the Big Fancy Jestorian Jamboree came with a pint-sized bonus prize: Tornge, the demon Bardly's performance inadvertently summoned. Worse, due to Hell's legendary bureaucracy, a paperwork snafu leaves Tornge essentially stuck in Jestoria for now.

Fortunately, Tornge knows a bit about Jestoria, because he's been here before. In fact, the Grand Sorcery School of Magical Scarves was his alma mater, long before it burned down. And when Tornge finds out the school went to ruin and was left to history, Tornge vows to rebuild the school from the ground up - with a little help from his demonic friends!

Demons are illegal in Jestoria, and summoning demons is especially illegal. Sir Cedric is bound and determined not to let Bardly forget it, and soon Bardly finds himself on trial in Jestoria's celebrity court to answer for the crime of demon summoning. Meanwhile, Tornge is rebuilding the old school grounds with the help of his demon investor friend - but 'demons' and 'making money' go hand-in-hand, and soon the school's reconstruction plan turns into a plot to revive a century-old eggball rivalry - and cash in on some major bets on the action, hoping that the visiting Griffon Academy of Flight can take the game.

But there's just one thing the demons didn't account for. Drakkar was an alumni of the school too, just before it mysteriously burned down. And if there's one thing that Drakkar won't stand for, it's a loss for the home team - particularly a shady one! And if the Grand Sorcery School of Magical Scarves loses, there's not a thatched-roof cottage in Jestoria safe from his wrath!
