He represents everything she's fighting against.
But they need each other to survive the land of endless winter.

Kay was trained to bring law and order to the far corners of the Empire. But the tundra is a treacherous to all, citizen or foreigner. When a terrible storm separates both captain and captive from the rest of their company, the pair have no choice but to rely on each other if they want to survive. Book Reviews
This was an enjoyable Snow Queen Reimagining with excellent world building and characters. I haven't read many retellings of this fairy tale but thought this was a good story and enjoyed getting to know both Gerta and Kay. I look forward to reading more fairy tale retellings by this author in the future.
