Every self-respecting lich has a few hundred phylacteries at a minimum, and Harold wants to check in on a few thousand of his. Rumors reach him that the vicious Mantis Queen has one of them. Naturally, she's at the other end of the region. It's just a casual stroll across the deserted and inhospitable Flaming Steppes. Inhospitable for the living, that is!

Fenfang Fang - the Limpet - is taking her job as Harold's very first warlock seriously. The ancient lich figures it's time for his protégé to learn the ins-and-outs of politics by ruling an entire city. Baby steps! Ruling the decrepit city of Yu Xiang looks easy enough. A mudhole at the ass-end of the Empire, ashen dirt that's nearly impossible to farm, waters filled with dangerous beasts, could it be any easier?

Of course, rumors reach the Jade Throne that a horrible Lich has taken over the city, and an army of conscripts and lessor cultivators is formed to uproot the great evil.

What fantastical sights will Harold see on his trip? Will Limpet be able to keep the city and her head from the army?

And the biggest question of all - Will Rem finally get to eat Alex?

RavensDagger

RavensDagger has built an unlikely literary home on the edges of the internet, where whimsy meets grit and where stories unfold with a mixture of warmth, humor, and unexpected bite. A Canadian writer with an almost restless imagination, he has become one of the most prolific voices in online fiction, sharing millions of words across platforms like Royal Road and Scribble Hub.

His stories often play with contrasts: bright, cozy tones threaded with darker questions, gentle heroes navigating worlds that should have crushed them, and villains who turn out to be far more human than expected. Cinnamon Bun introduced many readers to his softer, low-stakes approach to LitRPG, proving that not every adventure needs blood and thunder to feel rewarding. From there, his catalog grew to include Stray Cat Strut, a neon-lit blend of cyberpunk and magical-girl energy, and Dead Tired, where an ancient lich just wants to nap but keeps being dragged into the absurdities of the living.

What makes his work stand out is the voice behind it. Readers often describe his writing as “cotton candy with teeth,” comforting, light, and even wholesome, yet capable of surprising sharpness when the story demands it. He leans heavily into world-building, sketching elaborate settings before turning his characters loose to create chaos, wonder, and laughter. That balance between planning and improvisation gives his novels a lively, unpredictable quality that keeps fans coming back.

Despite juggling multiple series at once such as Fluff, The Agartha Loop, and Heart of Dorkness, he maintains a steady rhythm, revising older works for new editions while consistently producing fresh chapters. His audience has grown steadily, with thousands of dedicated readers following his updates, many citing his openness and sense of humor as much as his storytelling.

For RavensDagger, writing is less a profession and more a compulsion. He admits that after just a few days away from the page he begins to feel uneasy, as if stories themselves are tugging him back. That passion has carried him from early fanfiction roots into a thriving body of original work that spans fantasy, science fiction, and LitRPG, each piece carrying the same playful spark that defines his voice.

Whether you discover him through the comforting chaos of Cinnamon Bun, the futuristic grit of Stray Cat Strut, or the undead misadventures of Dead Tired, his worlds are unmistakably his: imaginative, generous, and quietly addictive.

Dead Tired

Being undead is not all doom and gloom. In fact, for one ancient lich, it is mostly about trying to take a nap without being disturbed. Unfortunately, the living have a way of interrupting. Heroes show up looking for glory, adventurers stumble into lairs they really should not, and entire kingdoms seem convinced that anyone with a skull for a face must be plotting world domination.

At the heart of this fantasy series lies a contradiction: a deathless sorcerer who wants nothing more than peace and quiet, yet keeps being dragged into chaos, politics, and reluctant heroics. The tone swings between lighthearted comedy and grim world-building, offering a story where powerful magic collides with mundane desires, and where an immortal creature becomes unexpectedly relatable.

The humor is sharp, the pacing brisk, and the balance between the absurd and the sincere makes the tale stand apart in LitRPG and progression fantasy circles. Instead of leaning only on battles and statistics, the narrative thrives on character interactions and the awkward hilarity of watching an unstoppable being navigate problems that cannot simply be burned away with magic.

Fans describe the series as witty, oddly cozy, and refreshingly unpredictable. It is the kind of story that takes familiar fantasy tropes and tilts them sideways, creating a world where even the undead feel strikingly alive.
