Kaida, leader of The Fires, has set her gaze upon Indelible's crown. Not to take it but to destroy it. Quickly, she finds herself caught in a game with the King's eldest son, Cassimir. A torturer, Spy master, and Future King. A game of spies trying to outfox each other commences, but with the King getting sicker by the day, things get heated. Especially as Cain, the King's younger son with a penchant for cruelty, has his eyes set on the crown too.
