Dreamers Don't Date Rumpelstiltskin
An intriguing stranger. An anonymous commenter. She needs both of them to help her.
I've been writing ever since I can remember. At first, it was just for family and friends but now I'm putting my stories on a blog called The Dreamer's Pen. The only constant commenter is someone who calls themselves R. Maybe there's a little flirting going on there, but it's just online, so there's no problem, right?
The blog is great fun until my dad brags that I can make scenes just float off the page, and the local mean kids hear about it. Now I'm in trouble, because now they've challenged me to do just that and if I don't...well, let's say it's not just my life they can make difficult.
Luckily, someone offers to help me out - someone with illusion magic - but he won't tell me his name. That's OK. I can handle a little mystery.
With R giving story tips and the stranger helping with the illusions, it looks like I've got this challenge nailed. But there's one thing that keeps nagging at me...what if my two helpers are the same person?
Dreamers Don't Date Rumpelstiltskin is the seventh story in Tales of Topaz Coast, a series of short fairytale retellings set in a modern, magical world. Grab a cup of tea and watch spring come alive in this sweet, clean story!
