Enemy of My Enemy

Humans colonized the planet of New Hope in the Centauri system, but the planet's name was rapidly becoming an unintended irony, as well-armed quarreling clans feuded with each other and the body-count climbed. Two of the most powerful clans, the Tuchmans and the Wings of Skywing, have been at each others' throats for years.

The the Wings demanded that all Hegemony representatives be immediately expelled from New Hope. Ward Tuchman knew that New Hope needed trade with Earth to survive, the the Wings would not listen to reason, particularly when it was coming from a Tuchman. And Ward wasn't trying too hard to convince them, he was too busy carrying on with a Wing woman to worry about politics.

But his lover wasn't. After an assignation with her, Ward comes home to find his clan ambushed. Ward must redeem himself, with only the widow of Ward's right hand man to help him. She says that she is determined to kill every Wing on the planet. If that is what it takes to regain his birthright and keep the Wings from starting a war with Earth, Ward is ready to help her do just that.
