Twenty-five years ago, a woman was brutally murdered at the opening night of a new hotel. The killer was caught red-handed at the scene. During a break in the interview, he managed to escape with help from somebody. Neither man was seen again. Now, DI Frank Miller is investigating the murder of a former detective, nine weeks after the head of Serious Crimes was slain in a vicious attack.
