Killing Time
Some killers run. This one is waiting to be found.
When a respected academic is discovered strangled and posed in a narrow lane near Holyrood, DCI Ewan McCall is called in to investigate.
At first glance, it looks like a crime of passion. A married woman. A burner phone. A jealous lover with everything to lose.
But nothing about the murder fits the pattern McCall expects.
As he and his team dig deeper into a web of lies, hidden affairs, and carefully constructed alibis, a second body is left in a place designed to be found. That’s when McCall realises they are dealing with something far more dangerous.
Somewhere in Edinburgh, a dying man is working through a list.
He has only weeks left. He knows the police are closing in. And he doesn’t care if he’s caught.
He only cares about finishing what he started.
As the investigation closes in on its final suspect, McCall uncovers a truth that changes everything he thought he knew about the case.
Because the real killer was never where anyone thought to look.
