The Day of Their Return

Diplomacy is a tricky business.
Galactic Diplomacy is more dangerous yet...
In the era of Flandry, at the farthest reaches of the Empire, the planet Aeneas is a political powderkeg ready to explode, where three very different men face the prospect of an armed revolt that could set the entire universe afire.
Desai. The new Terran Commissioner sympathizes with the fiercely independant Aeneans, but he will do whatever is necessary to preserve the Empire – and delay the long night of civilisation.
Ivar. Firstling of Aeneas, the young heir is a potent symbol to those who would resist Imperial rule – and a fugitive sought by both the Empire and Terra's alien rivals.
Jaan. Possessed by an alien intelligence of unimaginable age, he becomes the prophet of a growing cult that may ultimately liberate Aeneas from the Empire – and mankind from its own humanity!
