Rise of the Reaper

Death is meant to be the end. For Asher, it becomes the beginning of a fate far more dangerous than dying.

W.D. Swanson’s The Eternal Assassin is a dark progression fantasy series that explores a world where resurrection, forbidden powers, and ancient forces have turned mortality into something that can be controlled. When Asher discovers that his unique ability prevents those he kills from returning, he becomes both a weapon and a threat in a realm where powerful factions depend on the cycle of life and death remaining untouched.

As his strength grows, so do the questions surrounding his existence. The series follows a reluctant assassin navigating a brutal fantasy world filled with hidden agendas, evolving abilities, dangerous enemies, and the weight of choices that cannot be undone. Each step forward reveals more about the mysterious forces shaping the world around him, while Asher must decide whether his power will define him or destroy everything he hopes to protect.

Combining elements of LitRPG, dark fantasy, and character-driven progression, The Eternal Assassin delivers a tense journey of survival, strategy, and transformation. With a shadowy atmosphere, escalating conflicts, and a protagonist whose greatest gift may also be his greatest curse, the series offers a gripping exploration of power, consequence, and what happens when death itself is no longer a certainty.
