Freeze Point

Detective Justice #4
by Bruce Robert Coffin
Freeze Point (Detective Justice #4) by Bruce Robert Coffin
Unrated

January in Aroostook County. The crime scene is disappearing under a foot and a half of snow, and Brock Justice and Chloe Wright are hours away.

The armored car turned up on a remote wooded road—doors standing open, guard dead in the back, cash gone. The only trail leading out of the scene is vanishing by the minute.

Chloe Wright knows Presque Isle. She knows these streets, these families, these grudges. She doesn’t know yet which ones to call witnesses. Which ones to call suspects.

The FBI arrives with a theory: a dying militia leader, an anti-government grudge, nothing left to lose. But this robbery was too clean, too timed, too local for that to be the whole story. With a gutted local economy and a department that still wants Brock buried, the suspects multiply faster than the nor’easter’s snowfall.

The trail is buried. The truth isn’t. This storm isn’t done yet.

For fans of Craig Johnson’s Longmire and C.J. Box’s Joe Pickett, retired Detective Sergeant Bruce Robert Coffin returns with a propulsive Detective Justice novel set in the hardscrabble isolation of northern Maine—where remoteness is both the motive and the perfect cover.
