On Risingshadow, users can earn activity points by engaging with the site in various ways. These points contribute to your user level and unlock different achievements, which are displayed on your personal bookshelf page.

You can earn activity points through actions such as:
  • Rating books (1 to 10 stars)
  • Giving early/star ratings for upcoming books
  • Writing book reviews
  • Actively browsing the site
  • Participating in forum discussions
  • Adding books to the database (users can also suggest new titles)
  • Completing Reading Challenge tasks and taking part in the Book Trivia Quiz

The more active you are, the more points you’ll collect—leveling up your profile and unlocking new achievements along the way. It’s a fun way to get more involved with the community and showcase your reading journey!

Users also can earn various trophies based on their activity across the site. These achievements highlight different aspects of user engagement, such as:
  • Explorer – actively browsing the site
  • Bookworm – rating books (1–10 stars)
  • Critic – writing book reviews
  • Chatter – posting messages on the forums
  • Active – earning a high number of activity points and reaching advanced levels
  • Overall – unlocking achievements across multiple categories

Each achievement also has a rarity level (0-7) that reflects how challenging it is to obtain.

Some minor adjustments were made to how these levels are calculated. In some cases, the target levels were slightly too high compared to other achievements. Now they are better aligned with each other, and you might notice that your achievements in your bookshelf appear slightly higher
