The Bookshelf has been completely redesigned!
10/02/2026
We’ve launched a brand-new version of the Bookshelf. Our goal was to make it clearer, more useful, and above all, a better place to keep track of your reading.
The new Bookshelf gives you a much better overview of your reading world. The Overview highlights what you’re currently reading, books you’ve recently read, your reading list, books you own, and other useful selections from your library.
Managing books has also been improved. You can now rate books, change your ratings, mark books as read, add reading dates, and manage your reading list, favorites, wishlist, and owned books directly from your Bookshelf. Personal collections are also easier to use.
Your Bookshelf now includes a reading profile where you can explore the genres and tags that appear most often among the books you’ve read. You’ll also find achievements, reading challenges, favorite books, authors and series, along with other information about your reading.
Bookshelf settings and profile management have been completely renewed as well.
This isn’t simply a new look for the old Bookshelf. The Bookshelf has essentially been rebuilt from the ground up, giving us a much stronger foundation for developing new reading and personalization features in the future.
This has been a large update, and although we’ve tested it extensively, there may still be situations we haven’t encountered. If you find a bug, something feels confusing, or you have an idea for how we could make the Bookshelf even better, please let us know in this thread.
We hope you enjoy the new Bookshelf!

In the Library, how are the # of unique books calculated? I can’t duplicate my number. I tried # read + currently reading + to read and come up a few short.

I didn’t find the # of times the bookshelves have been viewed in the last 30 days. Was that intentional? I think the new bookshelf is great. Everything you could want in one place.

And thank you! I'm really glad you like the new bookshelf

Brian H (October 2, 2026)In the Library, how are the # of unique books calculated? I can’t duplicate my number. I tried # read + currently reading + to read and come up a few short.“Unique books” includes every different book that appears anywhere in your Library: Read, Currently Reading, To Read, Owned, or Wishlist.
Each book is counted only once, even if it belongs to several of those categories.
So Read + Currently Reading + To Read won’t quite reproduce the number because books that are only in Owned or Wishlist are included as well. And simply adding all five totals together won’t work either, since there can be overlap between them.
Hope that clears up the mystery!

In the Reading Insights section (What Shapes My Reading), it shows my top few genres as a horizontal bar graph. I would love the Bookshelf, About, Reading Profile to show the same kind of graph as above instead of the boxes for more clarity in that area, for your consideration.
