When is this coming out?

Fire and Song (Warformed: Stormweaver #2) by Bryce O'Connor
Fire and Song
Warformed: Stormweaver #2
by Bryce O'Connor

The Iron Prince will claim his crown.

Reidon Ward’s first semester at the Galens Institute hasn't been without reward. In just over half a year he’s gone from the weakest cadet at school to one of the strongest in his class, and there’s no one left who would argue that his Device, Shido, isn’t the most terrifying CAD they’ve ever laid eyes on. Still, Rei knows that his climb has barely begun, like he knows that the true fight is only just starting.

Visitor, (March 9, 2023)I swear he said March
Release date was delayed earlier this year.

"The bad news... Stormweaver 2 has been delayed by 2 months. It will probably be coming to eBook and audiobook in July or September of 2023, right before the 3-year anniversary!

The good news... This is happening because I have requested, and been granted, a 60-day extension on my deadline, which I definitely needed!" - Jan 28, 2023

He did. I love the book, but the wait is crap.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that September 2023 is the month to look forward to -_-

That would be a shame, it would imply that they don't think much of their audience, and take for granted their followers. Fame is fleeing.

Alternatively, unlike most modern day game developers, the author respects his art and doesn't want to rush out a product that he isn't satisfied with. I agree the wait isn't enjoyable, but for a project of this magnitude, I'm more than willing to continue to wait because I know it'll be worth it. Keep in mind how long each of these books is. We're not talking about a 300 page novel, this series is closer in scale to the Lord of the Rings. The book will come when the author is satisfied, there are thousands of other books you can read in the interim that are also enjoyable.

Did he mention if the book and audiobook will come out the same time?

Doesn't seem like this book is ever actually going to come out. The first one was great, but three years in between books...man the sequel better be BANGIN'. I literally don't trust anything the author says about release dates at this point. It's changed a billion times, and all he really seems to care about is trying to get people to join his patreon.

Annoying AF

As was stated earlier, the length of these books is enormous. The first book was 812 pages long, and I'm going to assume that the sequel will be just as long. This is the same length as combined 2-3 books in any other series. Those much shorter 250-400 page books often have 1.5-2 years in between releases. So, all things considered, you should be impressed that the sequel is only taking 3 years to come out.

3 years is nothing compared to any of the modern fantasy "greats" (except Sanderson, that man is a machine)

George RR Martin?  Patrick Rothfuss?  The late Robert Jordan?  Would LOVE for there to be 3 years between those books.

I agree with this! I loved the first book.. though I feel impatient about the wait. I want it to be the best it can be.

Terrible justification.....

when you consider he promised to hit certain dates over and over again, your justification means nothing. His word means nothing, as he just missed another target.
I know some other great authors that get out books this long on a yearly basis. Some of my favorite authors will get out 2 or more books in different series in the same year.

I was holding off reading the first book until the 2nd came out, and I'm glad I did. Now I won't even buy either as I'm not waiting another 3-4 years for the next book.

If you didn't even read the first why are you bitching about how long the second one took. These books are awesome.if it's a few months late who cares doesn't change the fact they are good books

That is, unfortunately, the current fad among writers, especially ones that have written books that have become popular. My suggestion is to simply move on to other authors that have works published. Nothing to be done about the treatment except to move on.

I agree that an amount of wait is acceptable to insure integrity but 3 yrs is extremely excessive especially if the author is starting new series in lieu of furthering existing project and in turn ignoring current fans.

Agreed! My kids and I loved the first book. I'm fine waiting for a good book, rather than getting a crap book sooner.
