Take the greatest concentration of brains of a thousand worlds – the Cyclan with its legion of emotionless agents. Take these inhuman monsters and give them a human target.

The target for both was Earl Dumarest. But the rule of the hunt was special. Dumarest must be captured but not killed. And the place was extra-special: the Quillian Sector. "The place where space goes mad."

The Quillian Sector where Dumarest was searching for lost Terra.
