Librarian spy Irene and her apprentice Kai go to Prohibition-era New York in their fourth adventure in the bibliophilic fantasy series from the author of The Burning Page.

After unavoidably torching a number of priceless manuscripts in an effort to save the Library, Librarian Irene is in hot water. When Irene is approached by a dragon who wants her to find a copy of a very rare book to impress her superiors, Irene decides to kill two birds with one stone. Given that the Library itself doesn’t have a copy, finding one for the Library might help raise Irene’s status.

Irene and Kai take a leave of absence to find the book in a Prohibition-era New York full of museums, but they’re not the only ones after it. It turns out that it is a matter of dragon internal politics as to who can get hold of it first and hand it over. And, of course, the Fae are interfering. Irene will have to get out of the situation without embarrassing the Library, herself, or Kai, preferably while still alive.

Genevieve Cogman

Genevieve Cogman got started on Tolkien and Sherlock Holmes at an early age, and has never looked back. But on a perhaps more prosaic note, she has an MSC in Statistics with Medical Applications and has wielded this in an assortment of jobs: clinical coder, data analyst and classifications specialist. Although The Invisible Library is her debut novel, she has also previously worked as a freelance roleplaying game writer. Genevieve Cogman’s hobbies include patchwork, beading, knitting and gaming, and she lives in the north of England.
