A Crowned Hope: A Prince and the Pauper Retelling
Is there any hope for a happily ever after while impersonating a princess?
Keira loves working in the royal stables of Glysein, but it will never help her earn enough coin to pay the family debt she owes. When her best friend, the Princess, offers to pay off Keira’s debt if she would impersonate her while a Prince visits, Keira reluctantly decides it is her only way to save herself from the streets. The only problem is that Prince Oliver, the prince she is supposed to entertain, is not as cold as Haleston Princes are said to be. He is, actually, more warm, kind, and gentle than any other man she has ever met before.
When a maiden runs into his arms while he is in the stables of Glysein, Prince Oliver of Haleston is curious about her right away. Discovering that the clumsy maiden is actually the Princess he is supposed to court makes his trip much more intriguing than he expected. However, the Princess does not seem eager to accept his compliments or his affection. Proposing a ruse to the Princess, suggesting that the two of them appear as if they are actively courting, gives Oliver hope that he might be able to break through the shy princess’s shell, because for him, none of it has ever been pretend.
When two worlds collide and deceptions are revealed, will there be any hope for Keira and Oliver to gain their happily ever afters? Is there any hope for a prince and a pauper?

Kayla Eshbaugh
Kayla Eshbaugh has often been told that her own real-life love story sounds a lot like a romance novel. At the age of sixteen, her brother's best friend told her that they would get married someday, and–spoiler alert–they did! Because of her personal experience, she is a firm believer that you can find true and lasting love while still in your teens, which is why she loves writing in the young adult genre.
Kayla often shares story ideas with her two sons and husband around the dinner table, writes scene ideas on her phone, types away at her next book in her office, and watches true crime documentaries with her husband, even though she is often afraid of the dark, afterwards. She also reads novels during any spare time she has, even if it is late at night after her kids go to sleep. She loves the beach and gets her best ideas for stories while she is at the beach or when she is camping in her favorite spots.
