In the second novel of the Frank and Ernest series, we meet the same two crafty cops we first met in Frank and Ernest at the Drive-By. Once again the two friends must solve a puzzling murder that, for one of them at least, hits a little too close to home. Oh yes, there is an added wrinkle this time: the two friends are friends no longer.
In this story, Frank is left largely on his own to solve a gruesome murder for which the Philadelphia police have nabbed the wrong suspect. Meanwhile, Ernie is left to cope with his recent partner Luther Porch, whom Ernie describes as the stupidest white man he ever met.
Will the two crime-busting cops be able to put their noggins together and solve this puzzle, or will an innocent man rot in jail?
A gentle note to the reader: this story will read yet even better if you have first availed yourself of Frank and Ernest at the Drive-By.
