Brian J. Nordon didn’t set out to be a LitRPG author—at least not at first. But somewhere between his quiet hometown of Dundalk, Ireland and the sprawling universes of online role-playing games, a story took root and refused to let go. What started as a creative experiment on Royal Road quickly became something more. Wildcards: The Dread Pirate, his debut, cracked the site’s top ten rankings and sparked a small but passionate following.

That early success didn’t come without its share of stumbles. Brian’s path has been shaped as much by trial and error as by imagination. He’s candid about learning the craft in public—testing ideas, absorbing reader feedback, and constantly rewriting his internal rulebook. It was during one of those reflective moments that Quest Academy was born—not as a project to chase popularity, but as a story written for himself, one that finally captured everything he wanted to say about power, identity, and world-building.
